What is Aroma Therapy?

One of the most important and influential human senses is our sense of smell.
For many reasons, Aromatherapy is among the fastest growing fields in alternative and holistic medicine. It is sometimes used in clinics and hospitals for treatment of pain relief, for labor pain, for relieving pain caused by the side effects of the chemotherapy, and for the rehabilitation of cardiac patients.

Aromatherapy has been used for over 6000 years. The Chinese were perhaps the first culture to use aromatic plants for well-being. They burned incense to create harmony and balance. The ancient Greeks, Romans and Egyptians all used aromatherapy for various reasons, including everything from bathing, massage, and embalming their deceased. For example, Hippocrates, who is sometimes referred to as the father of modern medicine, used aromatherapy baths and scented massage among his treatments. Hippocrates also used aromatic fumigations to rid Athens of the plague.

In the 1920's, a French perfumer - Rene Gattefosse - coined the term Aromatherapy.
The use of aromatherapy is a personal and lifestyle choice - one that can bring pleasure, beauty, calmness, vitality, and well being to the user’s life. Many of us can remember or associate an unforgettable experience because of a partner’s perfume or cologne, food, or some other memorable aroma that left a lasting impression.
Our Oxygen Bars use an aroma delivery station as part of the overall experience. See pictures in our Photo gallery located to the left. Our sophisticated delivery solution allows the participant to mix from up to a choice of four different aromas (depending on the delivery equipment).
Each delivery station can be customized with a name, company name, or logo to personalize the presentation to your audience.
Participants can choose from any of the following aromas (or no aroma if preferred).
